Private accommodation
First of all you should know that in Liège this type of accommodation is called a "kot". There are about 7,000 'kots' and studios in Liège.
What is a 'kot'? It’s an individual room, often furnished and rented by the landlord. Usually there are several kots in the same building. Students share the kitchen and the bathroom.
The price for a furnished kot is around 230 €/month, all included. There are two types of prices: those that include the cost of electricity, heating and gas, and those that don’t. Make sure that you take this into account when comparing prices.
To have more choice and take time to compare lodgings, we advise you to arrive in Liège at least one week before the beginning of classes. It is better to wait till you are here to make a choice and to pay nothing before you have seen the place.
The accommodation office can help you find lodgings when you arrive in Liège. There is also a list of addresses that can be consulted on the internet.
If you are going to stay in Liège for the whole academic year you will have to look for a private accommodation.
Youth hostel
If you should arrive in Liège without lodgings, our advice is that you spend the first few nights at the Youth Hostel.
