Students' life and free time
Students' associations

The objectives of the 'Fédération des étudiants' (Fédé) are to represent and inform students, and to defend their interests, to offer services (such as students' jobs), and to provide support in the students' academic life. It supports various cultural initiatives (photo lab, 48 FM, a newsletter called Le P'tit Torê – or "small bull" in Walloon), socially involved projects (the Benin project, an Amnesty International cell, an Oxfam group…) and entertainment activities such as the annual ball. Along the same lines the Fédé also supports students' associations that apply about interesting initiatives they have developed.

Since 2006, the "Fédé" has also been a member of the ESN (European Student Network).

The "Fédé" also organises multilingual conversation tables. The idea is simply to talk freely about any topic or topics alternately in French (so that Erasmus students can learn more of Racine's language - or rather a more contemporary and colloquial form of it) or in a foreign language (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Arabic or other languages depending on who is around). Each group decides on how it functions and in what languages.

A group within Fédé is dedicated to international relations, which include:

  • The Erasmus Commission, which sets up activities for European students, such as visits to local companies, parties or cultural weekends. It also promotes European programmes among Liège students.
  • It is a member of two students' networks and makes it possible for students to participate in exchange activities, lectures, conferences, and international meetings all over Europe.
Each faculty also has several students' associations. Ask fellow students, though many of the links on this page have become invalid.
