Supercritical CO2

Use of supercritical CO2 as an alternative to organic solvents :

  • non toxic, non flammable, can be recycled
  • adjustable solvent capacity, function of T° and P
  • excellent diffusivity
  • excellent transport properties
  • weak critical parameters (Tc = 31°C, Pc = 74 bar)

Three processes are under development :

  • The synthesis of organomodified nanocharges base on clay for the improvement of mechanical thermal and barriers properties of polymers
  • The synthesis of mixtures polyester/clay for the synthesis of nanocomposites
  • A continuous foaming process of nanocomposites by CO2 expansion.
