Environment

Activities of the laboratory in this field is mainly about fumes desulfurization, and his knowledge of industrial processes lead the laboratory to achieve various evaluations about environmental protection, mainly air quality. On top of consultancy for public authorities, the staff of the laboratory gives a substantial support to the work out of the air regulation in the Walloon region.

The laboratory has to address industrial problems linked to the protection of air quality. Under many circumstances, it assumed the co-ordination of multidisciplinary studies, particularly environmental impact studies of many industrial projects.

Its knowledge of industrial processes lead the Laboratory to achieve various evaluations about environmental protection, mainly air quality. Under many circumstances, it assumed the co-ordination of multidisciplinary studies particularly environmental studies of many industrial projects.

For environmental concerns, it appears more and more clearly that all environmental impacts linked with an activity must be taken into account. That is the reason why the Laboratory can complete studies on the basis of the life cycle analysis methodology. The experience of the Laboratory in this field has conducted it to build a large database from which different process can be modeled and to develop new methodological tools.

On the other hand, the Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry also has a good knowledge of industrial processes and it is thus possible to develop models of sub-systems in order to determine main inputs and outputs of a particular process. Data calculated by these models can easily be used in the life cycle analysis in case of a lack of data.

The Laboratory of Industrial chemistry offers its expertise in the following fields :
